Meet the Facilitators
Leading Together™️ will be co-facilitated by sisters and directors of Healthy Tasmania Pty Ltd - Lucy Byrne and Penny Terry.
After a childhood spent on a farm in Tasmania, they each took off to 'the mainland', explored life overseas, and then moved back home to live, learn and work.
During that time Lucy fostered the more analytical side of her brain, while Penny fell deeply into her creative side.
Then, after two very separate careers (and over a glass of wine), they decided to combine their brains (and skill sets) and founded their multi-award-winning ‘for-purpose’ business.
At Healthy Tasmania Pty Ltd, we help people and organisations who are doing work that makes a difference.
We do things differently, to get things done!
Together, Lucy and Penny specialise in helping people and organisations create the change they want but don't know how to achieve.
As experienced facilitators, trainers, and mentors, they bring extensive expertise in leadership development, governance, influential communication, engagement, and the intricacies of funding and strategy execution, with a deep understanding of the Tasmanian community.
Award-winning leaders, community builders, and storytellers, Lucy and Penny are passionate about empowering women to showcase their unique value in Tasmania.
LUCY BYRNE
Lucy is a trainer, project manager, mentor, facilitator and an award-winning non-executive board director. She is a nationally recognised community builder, using her experience, expertise and deep understanding of communities and organisations to create multi-award-winning partnership projects and company experiences.
She provides strategic advice to clients from governments, to not-for-profits, educational institutions and the private sector. She has worked in health and social services, tourism, forestry, emergency services, agriculture, waste management, government, education, legal and accounting and professional services.
Lucy thrives on challenging the status quo and loves to work with organisations that are looking to recreate a better future. As an award recipient, member and dual graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Lucy acts with integrity, has the ability to think critically, focuses strategically and is often praised for her communication style.
Lucy is dedicated to guiding her clients towards success with the same unwavering commitment and determination that has defined her own company's success. She collaborates to implement change, enhance policies, streamline processes, and strengthen governance practices - moreover, she empowers her clients and their teams to develop their own capabilities, enabling them to effectively carry out their own crucial work. Whether it is through her directorships or her consultancy and facilitation work, the public good is always front and centre for Lucy, as she strongly believes there are many opportunities for organisations to ‘do good’ whilst they ‘do good business’.
PENNY TERRY
Penny turns leaders into compelling speakers; who can talk with conviction, and without regret... ever! She helps people to see, and then share their impact through powerful conversations.
Penny loves both sides of a conversation - equally. She knows powerful questions leverage powerful stories. As such, she’s all about helping people and organisations to ask better questions, share better stories, and create better systems to make it easy (and interesting) for people to engage with who you are, what you do, and why it matters.
Penny’s an engagement expert, specialising in influential communication, workplace, and community storytelling. She delivers keynotes, workshops, and executive coaching services across Australia. Plus, she continues to share stories weekly producing and hosting five (award-winning) podcasts.
She spent more than a decade as an ABC radio presenter and has helped more than 20,000 people share their stories in the media, on stage, and during important conversations. She has a real knack for helping people feel heard, allowing them to confidently share their perspectives, stories, and experiences in a way that makes others take notice, take action, and make change happen.
Penny has developed a purpose-built process to help build people's skills and confidence to leverage their knowledge and create better outcomes for their communities and organisations.
